Throf is a flock management platform for sheep and goat farmers in France. Record every ewe, doe, ram and buck, follow mating, pregnancy, lambing and kidding, milking and drying-off, log treatments and weights, and see cost per head on iPhone, Android or the web.

France has meat sheep farms across many grassland and mountain regions and dairy sheep farms, the best known being the Roquefort area in Aveyron. Goat farming is mainly for milk and cheese, especially in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
In the Alps, the Pyrenees and the Massif Central, transhumance still takes flocks up to summer mountain pastures. Between the sheepfold, rough grazing and the high pastures, following each ewe needs reliable records.
Mating, lambing or kidding, milking, drying-off, treatments and weighing run all year, and a paper notebook or a spreadsheet soon struggles to give a real cost per head.
Autumn mating leads to late-winter and spring lambing in meat flocks; in dairy sheep and goats, the milking season follows births. Flocks go up to summer pastures in late spring, and lamb demand rises at Easter and Eid al-Adha.

Before ThrofAfter ThrofA file per head, an alert before every date, and cost that adds itself up — without the sales talk.

Tag number, breed, sex, weight, dam and sire, photos, pedigree and cost — 13 sections in one file you open in a second. Bulk import from Excel and tag reading with an RFID reader.

Your total herd sits at the top of the screen, with the classification ready underneath: newborns, farm-born, added directly, unweaned, young rams and ewe lambs, bucks and doelings, rams and ewes. Throf classifies every head by age and sex and keeps the counts up to date — whether you keep 50 head or more than 10,000.

How many females are pregnant today, and how many are overdue? Throf follows every female, computes insemination success and twinning rates, and reminds you of pregnancy checks and due dates.

Monthly and weekly vaccination calendar with alerts before the date, a medical warehouse with expiry dates, and meat and milk withdrawal periods recorded per head after every treatment.

Total expenses, total sales and recorded net profit in euros. The “Financial performance” chart compares your sales with your expenses month by month across the year, and flags your highest-spending and highest-selling months.
